No-kill cat shelter in Cincinnati, Ohio
They have 600 cats about half of which are FIV (feline version of our HIV) and
or have feline leukemia. Obviously the sick ones are kept apart from the others.
All the folks are volunteers and they do an awesome job of caring for these lovely
creatures. There is also a dog part of the shelter, but this visit was of the cats only.

Oh... the little darlings! My little Edward is recovering from having surgery on Monday - colectomy. Protect those darlings tails - losing his is what cased this neurological problem!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!

The eyes of the first cat are so pretty. It breaks my heart when I visit a shelter, but than I think of the ones still out there with no shelter or in a bad situation. Big kudos for all the volunteers! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm not a cat lover- but I am impressed with the shelter. The eyes--they get me every time!
ReplyDeleteUps, my first comment didn't work and now it's gone! :o(
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at them, I just want to give at least 2 of them a home! Unfortunately it's not yet the right time for me to share my life with pets, bit I'm thinking about this for a veery long time!
But after all, these poor things seem to be in good hands, although this is of course not even similar to a real home!
I feel so sorry for those cats, I hope they can find a home. We rescued a cat a few years ago whose only fault is to have been born black in a country where black cats are believed to bring bad luck.
ReplyDeleteBravo to these caring people!
ReplyDeleteI normally hate to see animals in any kind of shelter cages, but this shelter makes things look so cozy for them. And of course being "no-kill" I don't have the feeling that I immediately need to adopt all of them!
ReplyDeleteoh, poor cats!
ReplyDelete600 cats?!!! wow!! It looks like that they have a good live there...!
ReplyDeletethose eyes ....
ReplyDeleteHI Beth, When you saw those kitties, didn't you want to take them ALL home???? What cuties... That is neat to have a 'no-kill' shelter... Is it run by the city or state?? Or does all of the money come from private donations???? What a neat place.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
poor babies!!
ReplyDeleteI admire that great people!!
amazing job. three cheers for the volunteers!!!
ReplyDeletemeeeeowwww!
ReplyDeleteOhh, those kitties are adorable. It's a good thing I don't live close by or I'd be tempted to take one home with me! We took our basenji to the vet for a check-up yesterday and they had two adorable kittens for adoption... I nearly snuck one home, but I don't think Lady would've appreciated that very much.
