Beth, you know I am not religious like you, but I do believe that stepping away from worries helps.
And I think by trusting in God, this is exactly what you do. A bit of distance, a bit of quiet acceptance, a bit of faith in the outcome.
This should all help.

I was thinking along similar lines this morning... meditating on Psalm 143:9 -
"Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in you."
and Psalm 91:4 -
"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."
