This first one is from Ted Kooser.
This next one is a blast from my past: Rod McKuen whose poetry I loved in my teens and twenties.
The third book is a poetry of a soldier serving in Iraq. I ended up not putting any of it in here.

ReplyDeleteI haven't been reading poetry lately so thank you for sharing. I've enjoyed these two poems especially the first one.
ReplyDeleteI love images the first one conjures... this will probably sound very stupid, but it's a very "visual" poem to me.
ReplyDelete"You never turn your back - not once,

or taller."
So true.... one of my little babies is 6ft2 now!
All three sound great... I love Rod McKuen ---and he is definitely a blast from the past for me.... "If you go Away" is a fav by him and also "Listen to the Warm"... Thanks for the memories, Beth.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
