I arrived home last night
I'm missing them all
today
This house is too quiet
no sound
of the little man
scurrying
babbling
giggling
no smile
to look up and see
on my daughter's face
Sigh--Texas is just too
far away
from Ohio
Thanks to my neighbor
my flowers were well tended
They were reaching out
to greet me
colors bountiful
I'm thankful
for their color
and their calmness
still---they don't
sign:
please
thank you
I'm sorry
all done
no more
and
they don't say
"a voia"
for yes
Yes, flowers are wonderful,
but
grandchildren
are
PRICELESS
I have RICHES
in
Texas
good you made it home, okay.
ReplyDeletei'm watering for a friend this week.
and feeding the cats.
i really like the picture!
Beautiful photo of your flowers! I'd be missing that sweet boy, too. Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more: Grandchildren are indeed priceless gifts from God! You have a beautiful family, and I know you hated to leave them. We enjoyed having all four of our grands this past weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty . . . and you must have a wonderful neighbor!
too quiet houses... praying you hear God in the stillness. love, friend,e.
ReplyDeleteHi "B"----Thanks for coming to my blog. Please come back anytime. I am enjoying yours. OH--how I know how you feel when it comes to the kids/grands being far away. Two of my three sons (and their families) live in Texas. I miss them all SO much... SO---we have something in common (other than the fact that I am much older with older grands)....
ReplyDeleteYour little grandson is gorgeous.... And what a pretty daughter!!!! Great picture of the three of you... Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy
I couldn't agree more. We have seven precious grandchildren and are rich indeed!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely picture.
You and I could share the shirt. My favorite color, and much love of the various shades. [Glad you had such a blessed time -- and your flowers are wonderful!]
