As many of you know, we went to Ireland when we turned 50. It will be 11 years ago this summer. It was my dream trip. The walk below was around a clift overlooking Ardmore. There is a shrine, a saint's baptismal well, and a tower lookout. Nora Roberts' visited this area and wrote a trilogy around these sites. Particularly 'magical' was the well. The trilogy is: Jewels of the Sun, Tears of the Moon, and Heart of the Sea. These make wonderful light-reading, especially if you want to 'escape' for a while. I did my research and chose Ardmore as our first stop out of Dublin. It was a walk of my dreams and I would love to walk it again.

Ireland is among the top of my list! I would like to rent a car and drive around the island....
ReplyDeleteIreland is such a lovely country. I have been a couple of times as that is where my family is from.
ReplyDeleteI've never been but would so love to go! I've never read that trilogy either so will have to add them to my future reading list!
ReplyDeleteOh what a wonderful walk that would be! I too have always wanted to go to Ireland - my Grandfather's family was from Ireland so I have a goodly drop of Irish blood in my veins. How fabulous that you got to go there for your special birthdays - Karyn (Eliza's Dream)

ReplyDeleteArdmore looks like a beautiful place. A coastal walk with those ancient and historical structures in the landscape would be wonderful to see in reality.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED this. You just grabbed me again. I sure don't want to lose you, even though I have trouble following almost anyone around and about. But sure want to see you, face-to-face. Bless you and thank you.
