Corner View: Paper

I like to cut out items from the newspaper.  Such items include recipes, pictures featuring family members, and articles about interesting places to go or things to do. I stick them on my fridge with magnets.
Here are the bits of paper that are on my fridge now.
Ogleby Park in Wheeling, WV has a children's zoo and train.  I want to take the grandkids there.
I liked this list as I am going to have the grandkids one day a week.  We've done the chalk sidewalk art.
Grandson Dillon is the boy standing by the blond-haired girl in purple.  He has on a bight blue t-shirt with a design on it.
My son's family company owns a Cross Fit gym and recently they did a special  work out in honor of a fallen soldier.  My son is 2nd from the right in the back row. He manages the gym as well as his other numerous duties as president of his family company (they have gas stations and roofing, heating, air conditioning stores.
I think I will go to some near-by farmer markets because they are at other times in the week instead of the Saturday morning that our local one is on.
I'm interested in getting the kids in the summer reading program, but they've been and are still on vacation, so hopefully they'll let them join late.
My grandkids' mother's family company is Mosser Glass in Cambridge, Ohio.  They were featured in the paper recently.  Mindy, my son's ex, is the woman in the printed sleeveless dress standing behind the cake plate.

  1. Interesting snippets and definitely a good way to not forget about things... but I'm thinking you must have a huge fridge to fit all of those onto! :-D Sounds like your grandchildren are going to have a wonderful summer!

  2. Glad to see that everyone is doing so well! I used to love to sit and read the paper. It was my evening ritual.

  3. I like to look in our local freebie paper to see what I might get involved with locally although I'm pretty busy now as a member of one or two groups since we moved to a new area. My daughter-in-law sends me articles about our grandson's theatricals and her art exhibitions that might make news in their local paper. I put them in the family history file. I think you and the grandchildren will be having a fun time together and it'll be good for you to visit some new places too such as those markets.

  4. Seeing your clippings hang that way make me so happy. It's something I am familiar with but haven't done. It's what my loved ones do and so it feels like home and love.

  7. all so interesting! i have a box of paper clips that I kept from years back - now I don't buy the paper anymore, partly because there isn't a newsstand anywhere near here, but especially because that's the one kind of reading I don't mind doing online.

  8. I use to do that and I would put them in a little book, but now I never read the newspaper any more. Just don't have time!

  11. I tend to rip quotes and beautiful images from magazines for inspiration and put them on the fridge (original pinterest). Your family is quite industrious. Oh I'm sure you and the grandbabies are going to enjoy your time together.
