Barn Charm #41

'DRIVE-BY BARNS'

These are examples of "hang out the window and go click with the camera,"
while husband slows down,
vigilantly on guard for a swiftly approaching car.

This is a new version of a barn
and it may not qualify as such to some folks.
But I liked it.

Here is the opposite: a huge barn that is quite old,
accompanied by a deteriorating silo.
The road was built long after the barn and silo.
I would love to be able to explore it.
We have to 'book' it as a truck came bearing up on our 'tail'!

I pass this one every day on my way
to and from school.
However, this is the best I've been able to get of it.

It's on one on the few straight stretches,
where folks tend to make up time
by passing the people
who have slowed them down on the more hilly
and curvy sections.

  1. Your new style barn fits with farming on a less commercial scale. And that road looks like a great one to be exploring with camera at the ready. Usually can't pick a favorite but in your post I'd choose the closeup with tree/vines growing up the side. Well done.

  3. Great series of barns, esp the 2nd... I see a 'Home Made Baskets' sign on the right...
That silo looks split open w/ the inside exposed, but upon closer look, I think it's a big pipe or something attached to the side. Cool place & I'd love to explore that old place, too!

Thanks so much for joining =)

  4. I am always drawn to the old, dilapidated ones Beth. I like to imagine their stores.

  6. What a great variety of barns. So many have fallen to ruin here. Also enjoyed your newly posted sky views.

  7. I love the color palette in the third photo down. It reminds me of a Wyeth painting.

  10. Glad your husband enjoys the drives and encourages you on your hobby and creativity. Dave and I used to do similar, when I was doing spiritual warfare study. Couldn't drive always when needing to read the history posts, etc. NOW, we're both too busy doing too much other stuff. Miss those days.
