Photos of the Smoky Mountains

Mike and I just got back from a six-day vacation to Ashville, North Carolina and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We had a wonderful and relaxing time.  The last two days we stayed in a mountain chalet on the edge of Gatlinburg. The following are photos of the great Smokey Mountains from a drive and then sunset from our chalet's deck.

I love these two pictures of the clouds above and below the mountains ---easy to see why they are called Smokey Mountains!

More at another time.  Hope you are all having a good week.

  4. what a beautiful place! it does remind me a little of our mountains here, perpetually blanketed by low clouds even though it should be summer ... :(

  6. I'm glad you had the opportunity to take a trip into the Smoky Mountains area. The views look wonderful and staying there in a chalet must have been restful. Thank you for your visit and comment left on my last blog post which was much appreciated, Beth.
