Patience and spring--update of my grapevines

A reminder of what my  vines looked like two weeks ago.

    Now, look at them!

I will be patient {as I wait}till the coming of the Lord,
learning from the farmer who waits expectantly
for the precious harvest from the land,
keeping up his patient {vigil} over it until
it receives the early and late rains.
So I also will be patient. . . James 5: 7 - 8
I've not taken such close notice of the progress of spring on my plants before.  Oh I noticed the changes and rejoiced, but it was more of a coming out of the house one day and seeing everything in bloom.  Through the eyes of the camera, I'm seeing the wondrous rebirth.
I must look back on this blog next February. February is always the month when I wonder if spring will ever come!
It always does.
Patience.

I have a student who was extremely hyper, talkative, unpredictable---a handful his freshmen year.
I have him now as a junior and I'm amazed at how he has "bloomed" into a young gentleman who is much calmer, more mature, and more caring and compassionate toward others.
Two years ago, I couldn't have imagined that
he would evolve into the young man he is now.
I think I will take his picture and some of several other students
who have pleasantly surprised me this year.
Then when I have that unruly freshmen,
I can take those pictures out
and
be reminded that patience
and faith
can bring about wondrous transformations.

While on the subject of transformations, I want to draw your attention to a story told by one of my new "blog friends."
She has written a story that she is posting in four segments.
It's a testimony (at least to me it is).
Please take a moment to wander over to her site.
You will be blessed.
(I'm having difficulty with "linking," so I'll just
type the web address.
The story is titled "Dumpster vs. Vessel."

  1. Isn't it fun to see the changes in our students as they grow up?! I love Facebook-- to see where they go, what they are doing, and how they have grown up. Some remarkable transformations. I'm so proud of them!
