Corner View: Simple Pleasures

One of my simple pleasures is audio books.
I started listening to them on my drives to and from school.
The words along with the beautiful scenery
keep me awake and in a great mood.

I am on my 5th book.
I just finished the one above.
Having listened to Anne Before Green Gables,
I wanted to know about her at Green Gales.
I had always wanted to read the books,
but never got around to them.

I had to go to the children's audio book section of our library
to find Anne of Green Gables.
It was there that I discovered a good representation
of the Little House on the Prairie book series--
books that I had recently been told I must read. :>)

This is the first book
and I am presently listening to it and thoroughly enjoying this simple pleasure.

  1. I'm a huge fan of both of those series! I love looking at how life used to be. Simple times. Simple pleasures!

  2. Little house on the prairie ! Oh yes, this is a very nice simple pleasure !

  3. Books are one of my favorite pleasures! Growing up, the Laura Ingalls were some of my favorites.

  4. i've never tried audio books - i'm convinced that I like to read at my own pace, but I do stop and listen to my daughter's audio stories (my boys never had any time for those), and enjoy them.

  5. Sounds wonderful! I'ld like to try!!!

  6. I have all the Anne books and they are my comfort read.

  7. What a great way to hear these stories.

  8. I like audio books, and it's been too long since i listened to one.
usually the readers are well chosen.
quite a few years back, i recorded a book on cassette tape for my sister. i have never before read a whole book out loud before. i can't remember the book, but, it was a good one that i wanted her to read. but, she is not much of a reader...and so she listened to it in the car.

  9. I've read the books in the past, or watched the bits on TV, but not a "listener" when driving. WHY? I get too sidetracked and then have to repeat and repeat, etc. Been years since reading the Little House ones, but had them all and read them all to myself, usually more than once, and then did it to my kids, also. Back in the '70s/early '80s, that was my reading focus with my kids.

    Glad you're enjoying it.
