Quotes and Birds

Be like the bird who, pausing in her flight
awhile on boughs too slight,
feels them give way beneath her,
and yet sings, knowing she hath wings.
Victor Hugo

Rabindranath Tagore

Because I had my family,
I felt like I could be a bird and fly and experience and do.
Because I had roots somewhere,
I knew that they would love me no matter what,
and I could always go back home
and they were going to love me.
Gisele Bundchen

Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.
Salvador Dali

or a sickly adult.
I don't know enough about birds to know which one it is.

I think we consider too much the good luck of the early bird
and not enough of the bad luck of the early worm.
Franklin D. Roosevelt

A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer,
it sings because it has a song.
Maya Angelou

And on a less serious note:

Girdles and wire stays should have never been invented.
No man wants to hug a padded bird cage.
Marilyn Monroe

  1. Hi Beth, I love your bird photos... The one you thought might be sick is probably a juvenile House Finch... At least, that is what it looks like...

Love all of the quotes, but my fav today is the Maya Angelou one about the bird singing because it has a song.

    Hugs,
    Betsy
