"A man over ninety. . ."

"A man over ninety
is a great comfort to
all his elderly neighbors: he is
a picket-guard at the extreme outpost;
and the young folks of sixty and seventy
feel that the enemy must get by him
before he can come near their camp."

Olive Wendel Holmes

Just was reading through a little book, saw this quote, and chuckled a little.  My sister-in-law's mother turns 90 this weekend (not sure of the exact day)---she's still feisty as ever!
My brother and his wife will be going to Columbus, Ohio from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and on the return leg of the trip, I will meet them for dinner.  I haven't seen them since the fall, so am looking forward to the visit.  We were supposed to meet over Christmas, but a horrendous snow storm prevented that from occurring.

The pictures were taken at our little town's train depot.

  2. Got a good chuckle from Mr. Holmes. Thanks!

    As for the photos - you have a train depot in your town? How cool is that?

  3. What a grand window over the top of the window ... our old depot is being restored to use as a museum of sorts.
