Combination post

This shows the weighing of the pumpkins two years ago.  This year  they used a new lower truck bed
and the scale was at a lower level also, so it was easier to see the entire process.

These are the champions two years ago.  The one last year was 1503.  With the dry summer,
the amount of pumpkins entered was down significantly.  The winner only reached 1475 pounds.
The same man won two years in a row--a local man from nearby New Concord: Bill Neptune.

I have lots of pictures to post of this year's Pumpkin Festival, but will make do with these tonight.  My apologies to those who read the weekly Psalm post.   I shut down on blogging for a few days while I
dealt with some issues concerning my blogs.

More underlined portions of Psalms from my Mother's Bible:

GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. . .

Psalm 46: 1 & 2

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved . . .

Trust in him at all times . . . God is a refuge for us.

Psalm 62: 5, 6, & 8

Here is the prayer to begin this work week.

God 'guides' me as to what prayer to use.
Often the prayer is being sent out to another blogger, although
of course a sincere prayer benefits whoever reads it (or writes it in her blog).

"When I Need More Love in My Life"

Lord,
I open my heart to receive Your perfect love into my mind, emotions, soul, and spirit.
Help me to understand the depths of Your love at all times.
Jesus, I know You are the Son of God,
and
because
I have received You into my heart,
You live in me and Your love dwells in me.
Help me to live in Your love and not doubt it.
Help me to grow more and more secure in Your love so that I can grow and thrive
the way a child does with a loving parent.

Amen.

from: Prayers for Emotional Wholeness
by Stormie Omartian

Here is the accompanying scripture Stormy always has at the bottom of each prayer page:

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him,
and he in God.
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.
God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God,
and God in him.

I John 4:15 - 16

I hope your weekend was a happy one.  Mine was.
I pray that we all have a wonderful week.
Blessings to you all.
