The last color is ocean for Friday.

Friday is the last day of Francesca's Color Week.  The color is ocean.  I have several examples.

The dress of the girl on the right reminds me of the ocean---a fusion of blues. They are sisters. I imagine there is also coral that green color in an ocean somewhere.

The boy's vest is a vivid blue.  I have never seen an ocean this color, but I've not been anywhere but the Atlantic Ocean off of the Carolinas and Florida and the Pacific off of California.  So maybe this color is out there in some part of some ocean.  It would be beautiful!

 This is me with a student at this year's prom.  I like the blues here for representations of 'ocean'.

 And last is a painting of the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maine.  My son's great-great-grandma painted this and it is a family heirloom.  This is the only painting of hers that I got to keep in the divorce settlement (she was my ex's great-grandmother).

Thursday's Color is Golden.

Thursday's color is golden. I chose to highlight a former student of mine.  This is what she looked like in April at her senior prom.  Head on over to Francesca's for more versions on golden in this week of color.

Wednesday's Color is Fern.

  Wednesday's color is fern.  I took it literally by taking photos of the fern plant that hangs on my back porch.  I don't wear green nor is any part of my house green and I was up against a time crunch, so I played it safe.

Tuesday is smoke.

Tuesday's color is smoke.  The first photo shows smokey clouds mixed in with the white and blue.

The sky is more of a gray than blue in most of this picture, but the tower and trees have a smokey grayness to them also.

This is part of a photo rendition of our last name.  I like the smokey gray surrounding the R.

Color Week with Francesca: Berry for Monday

Francesca is doing a color week.  Monday is berry; Tuesday is smoke; Wednesday is fern; Thursday is golden; and Friday is ocean.

Picturesque rusted red tractor in a farm yard in Ireland.

Note the lovely red flowers in the left-hand corner.

This barn is directly across from my high school.

The sheriff had to retire due to a few bad choices,

but he is still much loved and missed by many.

Note the red 4-wheeler peeking out from the side lean-to.

I love the pop of red in the roof, the shutters, and the block foundation with yet more red in the door.

They converted this barn into a bright, lovely, functional garage with extra space below.

Today is our first Staff Professional Day of the 2012/1013 school year.

Already there is dissension and grumbling

finding it's way to me.

With that in  mind,

here is Monday's Prayer:

Lord, You have warned me that I will be judged by the words I speak.

And, You have commanded me to choose my words carefully

so that I might be a source of encouragement and hope to all whom I meet.

Keep me mindful, Lord, that I have influence on many people . . .

make me an influence for good.

And may the words that I speak today be worthy of the One

Who has saved me forever.

Amen.
