Corner View: Path

For this week's topic of path, I chose some favorite photos of paths we took when visiting Ireland 11 years ago.

This path leads to the first church in Ireland (supposedly).  I used this as my heading when I first came up with the name for my blog.  It was for me, B or Beth, meandering down life's paths.

Corner View: Looking Up

 If you look up above the Abbey Castle in Ireland, you will see a white dot.  That white dot is a statue of Jesus.

Corner View: Walk of my dreams

As many of you know, we went to Ireland when we turned 50.  It will be 11 years ago this summer. It was  my dream trip.  The walk below was around a clift overlooking Ardmore.  There is a shrine, a saint's baptismal well, and a tower lookout. Nora Roberts' visited this area and wrote a trilogy around these sites.  Particularly 'magical' was the well. The trilogy is: Jewels of the Sun, Tears of the Moon, and Heart of the Sea.  These make wonderful light-reading, especially if you want to 'escape' for a while. I did my research and chose Ardmore as our first stop out of Dublin. It was a walk of my dreams and I would love to walk it again.

Corner View: Europe

The only place in Europe I have visited is Ireland.

We spent seven days there

and did not want to cut our time there

by adding another country.

We could have easily stayed another two weeks.

If I was given a choice of going back to Ireland

or choosing another country,

I would still choose Ireland and add in Scotland and/or Wales.

You corner view folks have only seen a few of my Ireland photos,

as it has been nine years since we took the trip

and I have only been a part of corner view for slightly over a year.

However, I chose to show only the Cliffs of Moor.

They were AWESOME.

It was an incredibly long walk up the cliffs,

but oh was it worth it!

There was an entertainer with a wonderful dog that added to the delight.

I cannot describe how I felt looking out on this.

The first set is of Scotland.

This one is called The Faerie Pools

Looking down a village street.

This looks unreal almost,

but the concept of a castle high up

overlooking a valley and river 

way, way below

is unreal to me also . . 

and magical.

These next are of Wales.

I would love to tour a church like this one.

Just what I envision village shops to look like.

Corner View: Bridges and Back Roads

I am featuring my Ireland trip this week

to illustrate corner view's topic.

Look to the back of the above photo 

and you will see the bridge 

that had to be crossed to get 

to a part of Dublin.

After crossing on a ferry,

we walked the island.

Back on the 'mainland' this is in the Connemara region,

which is quite rural with narrow, winding 'back roads'.

The back roads could be treacherous as the driver of this car discovered.
