Barn Charm # 42

I'm not sure I could find this barn again.
My husband knows the back roads much better than I do---
thanks to some of his friends living out 'in the sticks'
when he was growing up,
his grandparents' farm's location,
and taking shortcuts to the coal mine
where he worked for several years in his twenties.

When we go on our barn drives, I have no clue where we are going
and usually how to get back!
But I enjoy the trips
and I trust him implicitly!

Below is a photo that got separated from its counterparts.
I exhibited side views of it and its companion here.

  3. What a unique barn! Do you think the lower half might have been living quarters? Maybe for farmhands? I love the way you shot the first three photos. I almost feel like I'm driving down the road with you! Great post!

  12. Great barn finds, esp the dark barn wood of the 1st & that rusted roof and the stone foundation... gotta love em! But also, look at that blue blue sky, looks like that was a wonderful day for barn hunting!

    Thank you for joining =)

  14. Glad you have your own personal barn chaser, Beth. Now you can concentrate on the photos. Your first photos is a bit of contrast, old and new, isn't it? The new may be a milking parlor? Regardless, that shot down the road just says scenic country drive.

  15. I sure would love to head out to visit you and be taken all over your area to see your fun and beautiful things. [If you were to come way, I'd do the same for you. But, oh, well. We just have to do what we can do and go where we can go.]

  19. That's a beauty...how tall it is! Glad you're able to go on barnhunting adventures with your husband. That makes it easier to snap shots when you can't find any place to park! Thanks for stopping by at my barn.
