Barn Charm: # 70

When I, camera in hand, drive on a favorite road out west of my town,
there are two farms that I can see way down in the valley.
Some day this summer I hope to go exploring with hubby
and find the way down to them.

I got a better shot of this one on my way back to town.
It is much further away than it looks.

This barn is one I've taken before, but never this early in spring.

For more barn views, head on over to Trish's place.

  2. I would love to see this when there are leaves on the trees and it's all green and lush.

  3. When the trees leaf out you won't be able to see anything in that valley... hope you find the way to get closer shots.

    thank you for joining, Beth

  4. I'm glad you were able to get a glimpse of this farm before the leaves form.

  5. I expect when the leaves come on they will be well hidden again. It's fun to explore, but be careful. Pamela

  7. Tantalizing to see them snuggled down in the valley and not know the way to get there. It will make for a fun day trying to find them.

  8. That is quite a place down there. Reminds me of the a property where I grew up. It sat down a steep hill from our road, was abandoned, had an old farmhouse and buildings, and was a place that any kid would love to explore. Of course in those days we knew better than to trespass, even on an abandoned property.

It sat for years, seemingly uncared for.

I vowed that 'one day' I would buy it and fix it up. Of course that day never came, and someone else eventually purchased the property, and built a new home (a McMansion before there were such things).

The last time I drove out that way things had changed very little. It's still very much a farming community, and that property, that I once wanted so badly, is now home to a new family. It's cared for once again, and that's all that really matters.

Thanks for visiting my blog this week. See you on Monday. :-)
